In accordance with the SRA Price Transparency scheme, we provide the following information for any debt recovery work undertaken for businesses up to the value of £100,000 and for residential conveyancing. The following information is an illustrative guide only, based on average fees, and you should contact us for a quotation relevant to your case. VAT will be chargeable in accordance with the current tax laws and the current rate is 20%.
Debt collection
Our fees will typically range from £300 plus VAT upwards depending on the specifics of your case. Our fees will typically be based on an hourly rate basis. The hourly rate is dependent on who undertakes the work. The following fee earners carry out debt collection work and at their following hourly rates:
You will also have to pay any disbursements which may include court fees and barrister fees. The amount payable for disbursements will depend on the circumstances and details will be provided iin advance of incurring those disbursements. Disbursements will usually attract VAT in addition. We will confirm the likely costs and any disbursements with you before we undertake the work.
Straightforward cases will typically take between 1 – 6 months to conclude, whereas more complicated cases can take 12 – 24 months. We will explain the likely timescales and the procedure with you at the outset of the matter.
Residential sales
Our fees cover the usual work involved in completing a sale of a residential property. These fees are indicative of fees payable in a straightforward transaction and are usually charged on a fixed fee basis - the rate will be agreed with you in advance.The following fee earners carry out residential sales and at their following hourly rates:
You will also have to pay any disbursements, details of which are set out in the table below. VAT will be payable on costs and disbursements.
We do not pay referral fees to third parties such as mortgage brokers or estate agents.

The fees include the following:
• Take initial instruction from you
• Make contact with your existing lender and obtain a draft settlement figure (if applicable)
• Obtain official copy Land Registry title documents
• Prepare and submit contract documents to the buyer’s solicitor with completed Property Information and Fixture & Fittings Form to buyer’s solicitor
• Receive and reply to any enquiries raised by the buyer’s solicitor
• Give you advice on all documents and information received
• Arrange for you to sign contract for sale and discuss potential completion date with you
• Agree completion date (date from which you sell the property)
• Exchange contracts and notify you that this has happened
• Collect final figures from your estate agent for their commission and your mortgage lender to redeem your mortgage and prepare a financial statement
• Complete sale
• Forward title documents to buyer’s solicitor
The quotation does not include dealing with ancilliary matters such as lease extensions or resolving disputes, which we will provide yu with a quotation for separately.

The average transaction takes between 12 – 18 weeks. We will assess your transaction at the outset and confirm the likely timeframes with you then.

· Submit search applications and prepare an initial report to you
· Raise enquiries of seller's solicitor
· Receive your mortgage offer and report to you
· Receive and review search results, raise further enquiries, if necessary and report to you
· Review replies to enquiries from the seller’s solicitor and report to you
· Make arrangements for you to sign all necessary paperwork and discuss potential completion dates
· Exchange contracts and notify you that this has happened
· Prepare a financial statement and arrange for all monies needed to be received from lender and you
· Complete purchase
· Deal with payment of Stamp Duty/Land Transaction Tax
· Deal with application for registration at Land Registry
